WORK EXPERIENCE

I am presently working as a design engineer for a major plactic packaging company.  I design and draw on AUTOCAD R2002 various items and equipment.  These items can be simple or complex. The drawings are in 2D and/or 3D.

During the time spent in the metal fabrication business, I designed equipment and systems to support the operation of this equipment, I designed and programmed computer processors to control the operation of various types of systems and equipment, and managed various projects as a consultant to design, build, and directly supervise as needed. Much of the designing was done on a CAD system. (approximately 1500 hr.)

While working in the electrical contracting business, I was responsible for job organization and implementation to include: cost estimations, bidding, specifications and material cut sheets, material listings and ordering and receiving, manpower analysis, billing, change orders, designs, code interpretation, update meetings, architectural coordination, and job close out. I was responsible for OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication Program, lighting design, CAD drawings for job layouts and equipment design, inventory supplies and cost updates, vehicle maintenance, job scheduling, customer relations, update computer systems, and hiring of subcontractors.

While holding the position of plant engineer for a turkey processing plant, I was responsible for all plant maintenance, its equipment, and all facilities that support the operation. I also prepared and completed assigned projects dealing with designing, selecting, and installing processing systems, machinery, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
I had one supervisor and one manager that reported to me. They had a total of eight maintenance personnel under them that maintained the facility and its operation. I was involved in the design, layout, building modifications, equipment selection, support facilities and equipment, and installation of all the above for a whole bird smoking and packaging operation.
I designed and installed a dual stage cooler/freezer system that included the building and refrigeration additions and modifications.
I planned, designed, and wrote the micro processor programs for the auto defrost system and the four size auto change case sealing system.

During my employment as a project engineer for Foster Farms, one of my projects was to manage a $3.5 million plant expansion at a turkey further processing plant. This included designing, cost analysis, selecting, and installing refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and material handling systems, building additions, equipment layouts, product flow patterns, and dock layouts.
I was involved in the design and layout of the hang, bag, and boxing system at a live bird turkey processing plant.
I gained much experience in the use of computers for project management and spread sheet analysis. I was involved in the design and installation of computer process control systems for refrigeration control and yield analysis. I did extensive work on a continuous weigh and label system for packaged products.

I was involved either directly or in an advisory capacity in virtually every aspect of the operation of the Jerome Foods, Inc., Barron Plant. This included the areas from live haul through bird chilling, from boning through shipping, from whole bird packing through shipping, from boning through further processing, from blast freezers through coolers, and all support systems and facilities for them. I worked very closely with all maintenance personnel, plant supervisors, and managers.
I have done extensive work at the Jerome foods, Inc., Minnesota Division Plant in the area from live haul through bird chilling, from whole bird packaging through shipping, from blast freezers through coolers and the support systems and facilities for them.
I have done limited work in the Jerome foods, Inc., Philadelphia, PA Plant in the areas of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
